Nonequilibrium Aspects of Quantum Field Theory

چکیده
We have developed a method for extracting equilibrium observables from non-equilibrium simulations by rapidly changing the temperature and recording the subsequent evolution of the Polyakov loop. Both nucleation and spinodal decomposition are observed to occur. In the latter case the Polyakov loop correlation function shows exponential growth for wavenumbers less than or equal to the critical wavenumber kc. We have constructed the bare as wee as the effective potential for the Polyakov loop, from which kc and mD/kc can be extracted as a function of temperature. The shift from spinodal decomposition to nucleation as the dominant equilibration mechanism occurs at the spinodal temperature that separates these two regimes.

Bistability in the Electric Current through a Quantum-Dot Capacitively Coupled to a Charge-Qubit
We investigate the electronic transport through a single-level quantum-dot which is capacitively coupled to a charge-qubit. By employing the method of nonequilibrium Green's functions, we calculate the electric current through quantum dot at finite bias voltages. The Green's functions and self-energies of the system are calculated perturbatively and self-consistently to the second order of inte...

متن کاملNonequilibrium quantum fields from first principles
Calculations of nonequilibrium processes become more and more possible in quantum field theory from first principles. There has been important progress in our analytical understanding based on 2PI generating functionals. In addition, for the first time direct lattice simulations based on stochastic quantization techniques have been achieved. The quantitative descriptions of characteristic far-f...
متن کاملSpin-channel Keldysh field theory for weakly interacting quantum dots
We develop a low-energy nonequilibrium field theory for weakly interacting quantum dots. The theory is based on the Keldysh field integral in the spin channel of the quantum dot described by the single-impurity Anderson Hamiltonian. The effective Keldysh action is a functional of the Hubbard-Stratonovich magnetization field decoupling the quantum dot spin channel. We expand this action up to th...
متن کاملTheoretical computation of the quantum transport of zigzag mono-layer Graphenes with various z-direction widths
The quantum transport computations have been carried on four different width of zigzag graphene using a nonequilibrium Green’s function method combined with density functional theory. The computed properties are included transmittance spectrum, electrical current and quantum conductance at the 0.3V as bias voltage. The considered systems were composed from one-layer graphene sheets differing w...

We review the closed time path formalism of Schwinger using a path integral approach. We apply this formalism to the study of pair production from strong external fields as well as the time evolution of a nonequilibrium chiral phase transition.
